Layer Selection for Editor Exports
Elyse Jackson | Scriptation
Having the option to select which layers are included in an Editor Export for lined pages would be incredibly helpful and time saving!
As of right now, layers— whether their user created or Info Layers— currently aren't included in Editor Exports for lined pages. To include other layers in the Editor Export, the current workaround is to merge your notes layers into your lining layers.
For now, any user who wants your Info Layers to be exported with your Lining Layer, you can merge that info in!
- First, make a copy of any of the Info Layers (using the copy icon next to the Info Layer label).
- Then, you'll be able to merge that new editable layer into your Lining Layer like regular notes!
This is how we let you have an editable version of the numbering that will transfer like regular annotations moving forward.

I completely agree with this suggestion.
The automatic dialog numbering has been fantastic. When we stop and start within a take or when we repeat dialog, I will note the corresponding dialog numbers. This is especially helpful in longer scenes.
BUT figuring out how to include the numbering in the export has been frustrating because it is not at all intuitive. This last time I remembered the idea of "merging," but forgot about the "copy layer" and couldn't get it to work. At the end of a long day, I just sent it without the dialog numbers that I referenced in my notes (they were shorter scenes, so it wasn't so bad).
So yes, I support making it easier to add layers to the lined export.
Cheers,
